David Lindskoog
Clinical Counsellor

David offers counselling service to youth (13+) and adults in both in-person and remote formats. David has specific expertise and interest in gamin and geek culture. He also specializes in suicide prevention, career counselling, and issues facing post-secondary students and recent graduates, and often sees clients facing depression, anxiety, overwhelming stress, life transitions, and many other difficulties.
David's approach is primarily centered in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), but he often integrates tools and strategies from Narrative, Dialectical Behavioural (DBT), and Cognitive-Behavioural (CBT) approaches. He offers a down-to-earth, genuine, grounded, and caring atmosphere prioritizing connection and empathy above all else. David is also certified to administer and interpret career counselling assessments including Myer-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory.
David has over 10 years of counselling experience, and holds an MA in Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Vancouver BC. He is registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). In addition to his private counselling practice, David works as a clinical counsellor at Simon Fraser University. His other experience includes teaching as a sessional instructor, working as a youth suicide prevention therapist, a post secondary career counsellor, a mental health worker in community homes for people with serious mental illnesses, and as a tutor in an alternative youth education program.
David sees clients 13 yrs of age and older.
