Bob is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who has worked with individuals, couples and families over the past 35+ years as a Pastor and a therapist. Bob works with individuals (18 and older), couples and families using a client centered approach and an eclectic mix of counselling modalities depending on the client and issues presented. His areas of interest include anxiety, grief and loss, family of origin issues, trauma, debriefing, conflict, spirituality, and transitions. An area of special interest is marriage preparation and marriage therapy. Bob has worked with many couples to both strengthen existing relationships and to assist in recovery and rebuilding in times of relational crisis and distress. Bob uses a variety of strategies to help couples succeed including mapping (conflict), enhanced communication techniques (including Gottman resources), and helping couples identify unmet dreams/goals that block the process of moving forward. Bob is the co-author of Couple Care Marriage Preparation Manual and Along The Way (a book encouraging healthy relationships for those already married). Bob served as a Spiritual / Emotional Care Director in New York following 911; Biloxi, Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina, and Kelowna, BC, during the Okanagan Fires.
Married for 35 years, and the father of three married sons, Bob is currently the Executive Director of Oasis Ministries, a non-profit organization that works with Pastors, Missionaries, Ministry Leaders and Spouses dealing with professional and personal issues.
Passionate about healthy relationships Bob enjoys hockey, baseball, golf and ice cream.
Bob is a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
