Bahar Chitsaz M.A.
Registered Clinical Counsellor No.23607

Bahar is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who offers counselling in English, Farsi, and Dari. She brings extensive experience supporting adults, youth, women, and psychosomatic clients in their journey toward healing, resilience, and personal growth.
Bahar works with individuals experiencing trauma and post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression. She is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood, and where they can explore their experiences at their own pace.
As an immigrant to Canada, Bahar understands the unique challenges faced by newcomers and has extensive experience supporting immigrants, refugees, and individuals in vulnerable situations, navigating multiple life stressors. She takes a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, incorporating body-based (somatic) techniques, existential therapy, and evidence-based modalities such as ACT, CBT, DBT, and EFT to help clients build resilience, explore meaning, and reconnect with their inner strengths. Her work is grounded in empathy, cultural humility, and respect for each individual’s story, as she believes each story holds many hints and turning points for healing.
Bahar is dedicated to creating an inclusive and culturally responsive therapeutic environment. She is passionate about supporting clients in developing self-awareness, navigating life’s challenges, and moving toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
Outside of her work, Bahar enjoys staying active through sports, going to the gym, travelling, and reading. She values a healthy lifestyle and strives to maintain balance and well-being in her daily life.
Bahar is an active member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and welcomes clients aged 12 and older.
